Time management

Why is it I spend most of Monday e-mailing and coming up with my to - do list and don't get anything else done?  Suggestions?

Sounds like it is time to rebuild the calendar. And your to do list building process.

I would recommend starting your Friday with the goal of having your Monday "to-do" list down on paper. That way, it is truly "pencils down" on Friday, when you leave to go home.  You will enjoy your weekend and hit the ground running first thing Monday.

Then, repeat this daily...before you go home, know what you be working on the next day.

As for e-mail, setting aside a few times a day to check it may be a solution. Rather than being in "constant contact" and letting it drive your time, turn the tables! Schedule a morning window and an afternoon window to read and write. The time in between, log off completely. (I know - it is hard to execute at first!)

Keep us posted on how it goes......
