Hooray...it's a good show...or...dang...it was a good show

I've read somewhere that whenever an actor sees a show - if it's bad he hates it because it's so sad to be in a business where terrible actors and directors get work and he's sitting here watching...and if it's good, he hates it because he fears he'll never be that good.

I saw a really good show last night - Arms and the Man - at  Oak Park Festival Theatre - Oak Park, IL.  I"m not just saying that because I'm on the board -- it's really REALLY good.  I have these fears of mediocrity and was amazed and thrilled at the actorial and directorial hand I could see in this peformance...and I worry that I am not that good..

BUT..I am so totally relieved that my theatre company is doing a great show.

So...I'm torn...and that, as Stewart Smalley would say, "...is okay."
