I am a desert rat, love the desert except for the winds. My home in Albuquerque is my castle. I consider it a sacred space and an echo of my soul. I am an outdoors person, having hiked and skied all my life. These activities led me to travel which is another love. and photography has been a life-long hobby.
I love many kinds of music; I'm a dancer--especially Salsa Ole'; I love to read; I write a little poetry; I love to cook; I love to garden; I love to create.
And I love to lie on the ground and watch the clouds form and move and dance.
I hail from many places, being an army brat plus moving and traveling and exploring the world on my own since high school. I love Albuquerque especially for it's many cultures, its landscapes, it's enchantment and it's Light. Of all the many places I've lived in my lifetime, Albuquerque is the only place I have lived twice.
I find all of Life interesting, and most subjects seduce me into seeking more...Voila! Therein lies the problem of too many interests, not enough time. It's the same with friends--I have so many and they are everywhere. So I travel and see the places, the people and the friends and never seem to spend enough time any one place.
Now I am recently "retired" from the US Forest Service, living in Albuquerque and hope to spend more quiet time smelling the daisies at home!
But I'm still called; I'm always looking for new adventures, new friends, and new ideas.
I need to get out of a rut and get some pizazz back in my life. Plus there are a few things I don't like about myself right now and I need to rise above them.
You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:

My favorite wild animal is:
Why (describe as much as possible):
Beautiful and wild. Live in families. Supurb at survival. Smart and fleet footed.
My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):
Siberian or any northern breed of husky.
I had a registered Sib when I moved to Alaska, and grew that into a kennel of 50 dogs! I had a competitive, open class team for 8 years. These dogs are the most wonderful, lovable friends. They work hard and love to run. They aim to please.
A famous Chef will prepare anything you want. What do you order:
Poached salmon with rosemary served on a bed of steamed spinach. Short grain brown sweet rice. And salad greens with avocado and cucumber.
Must be all fresh ingredients including fresh catch for the salmon. Highly nutritious, melt in your mouth taste when prepared correctly. I love greens, staying away from starches. And I love rice, staying away from gluten.
Five people either dead or alive you would have at your fantasy dinner party::
Evan Hodkins, my father Leonard Cook, Elizabeth Olson, the Dali Llama, Joanna Macy
Evan is my spiritual teacher and soul friend; my father was killed when I was a baby and I don't know him and long to; Elizabeth is the wife of Sigurd Olson--one of the writers of the US legislation creating Wilderness, 1963; Dali Llama is perhaps the most evolved being on our planet today; I admire her life and perspective and what she gives to humanity.
If a pilot would fly you anywhere you want, you would go to:
Tahiti for a month with a gentle man who is full of life, gracious, and adventuresome.
You are at a bar. You order this drink:
An Italian Heather; it is half scotch, half Galiano on the rocks with a twist of lemon.
