Devlyn Steel on Ellis Yesterday

I am avid listener to the Jason Ellis show and to be honest would not be on Tools had it not been for that show. Yesterday, Devlyn was on and really had offered great insight into many things that we do to ourselves regarding self sabotage. This really struck a chord with me. And I began to realize all of the mental BS that I need to address or else I will continue down this path of self deprecating stagnation. My own inner voice is just filled with self doubt, insecurity, etc. that leads me to innaction and then more self displeasure for not getting stuff done. Essentially, its a terrible mental cycle. Now, don't get me wrong, I believe I am beginning to sound like pretty pathetic in my blog. I am not. Quite to the contrary, I am an accomplished Sales person and now tackling a business consulting role.  But what I found, as I unsatisfied at work, was that I was preoccoupied with all of my faults. So much so that I was miserable in many facets of my life which was getting internalized. Now back to Devlyn's comments which pointed out that as a society we have become preoccupied with accumulating things to show how wealthy we are that we neglect ourselves and people in pursuit of stuff. Now that the economy is in the dumper this preoccupation is getting a heavy dose of reality. My personal take on it is that I don't need to compare myself to the rich and famous to guage my value or happiness. I just need to be happy with myself. One step at a time is great montra. Today is and was a great day. Although, its been a short journey thus far, I look forward to the future.

Ellis

I actually joined back in June of '08, only did one day, and then quit.  And I heard Devlyn on the Ellis Show Tuesday and just like you said, the whole segment really hit home for me and here I am back on and ready to make my life better.  Keep up the good work man!

The show Rocked!

Always does! Devlyn is the real deal andits inspiring to know a guy with dyslexia overcame all those obstacles and wrote Tools on top of that. Shows you what a man can do when he sets his mind and actions to it.

I loved yesterday when Ellis couldnt curse and Big B was on, just funny shite!

Keep up the awesome work!

Mike

Changes need to be made.

I listened to the Jason Ellis Show Tuesday, also. I am here today, ready to make changes in the way I think through life. I'm so tired of having shitty days, and blaming other people for my problems. I want to be the fun-loving person I was 5 years ago. What happened to me? Other than being a funny mo-fo, Jason Ellis has inspired me to want to change the "bad" factors in my daily routine. Today is a great day. Thanks to Jason Ellis and Devlyn Steele.

Thanks for the chance and inspiration,

Wendy

Red Dragons!

Rock on RTT!!  I too would not have ever heard or given anything like this consideration if not for the Ellis show.   Today is my first day... so I've been poking around here looking to see what I'm supposed to do.  But it seems that the Toolbox thing is the deal.  So anyway, good to see another Ellis fan around here.

Has it been working out for you?

Thanks,
