One of those Days

Ever have one of those days? I know you have. You know, everything you touched seemed to be cursed or it seemed you couldn't do anything right. In the past yesterday would have been one of those days. Usually in the past I would have got more and more frustrated. My day would have got worse and worse. By the time I got home I was in such a bad mood I would take it out on everone around me. I don't know why, maybe in the back of my head I thought if they feel as miserable as I did I'd feel better. Yesterday was different though. When something didn't go quite the way I wanted and I started getting frustrated I stopped, counted to 10 re-assessed the "situation". Two things happend 1) I realized the world wasn't out to get me, sometimes things happen. 2) I didn't let the little things snow ball in my mind and let my frustration build "make a mountain out of a mole hill."

At the end of the day I got on the bus. Instead of going over the day over and over again, I let it go and read my book. I got home smiling, gave my kids a hug, told my wife I had a great day, and told her I loved her. We went out for Supper and a movie and had a great time. I think for me sometimes just looking at things in a different way can make all the difference in the world. If we dwell on the negative we will be negative.
