Attended a wonderful movie screening last night.

Deso runs a local Men's Group, one of many throughout Australia. They are a haven where men are able to express and understand themselves without pressure or judgement from others, and due to the support mechanisms remarkable transformations have taken place.

Now a movie on the subject has been created in Sydney named 'Mens Group' and recently released nationwide, and we went to a local screening. It's powerful, uncomfortable, confrontational, part comedy, part tragedy but best of all, realistic.

Both women and men were present at the screening, and with the film's producer holding a Q&A session afterwards there were few that were unaffected by being shown differing sides to the character's lives. Some men could identify with a particular character's situation and response, and many women in the audience realised how vulnerable men really are. While filming the actors were unaware of their fellow actor's script which enabled them to respond realistically, which in turn made their performances so believable.

Sounds like a plug I know, but if you have the opportunity to see it in your town I'd highly recommend it.
