I am a 39 year old chemist, husband, and father of two boys.  We have recently moved to the Lehigh Valley (Allentown, PA) because my employer company was bought and it was made clear to me by the new folks (Air Products) that it would be in my best interest to move to the corporate HQ.

It's not necessarily a bad thing; I am enjoying my job more than I have in a while and the house that we moved into, although it is a big step up financially, is literally my dream house.  All the same, this has put me out of sorts.  I had a major crash last summer and, being prone to depression anyway, found myself grasping at many things to help me cope with it... some of them not good for me at all.

(I'm not talking substance abuse or anything, but a number of my friends will know what I'm talking about.)

I'm still not 100% and stress continues to mount.  I don't know if CeeLee mentioned this by design or via happy coincidence, but I think Tools for Life may be a good thing.

I guess we'll find out, eh?

I joined TOOLS because:
A friend (CeeLee) pointed me to this site as something pretty interesting. After looking it over, I signed up because I realized that I needed help with organizing and meeting my goals.
You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:
Don't ask me specifics, but it involves some travel (both domestic and international), physical labor as well as mental focus, continued recognition (i.e. time in the spotlight), and a lot of conceptual planning.
My favorite wild animal is:
Big cats-- Tigers, cougers, cheetahs, etc.
My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):
 Cats.
A famous Chef will prepare anything you want. What do you order:
 Whatever he wants/is best at.
Why:
A person's best performance is born of his/her passion and interest. If I try to constrain that I probably won't have the absolute best culinary experience that said chef has to offer.
Five people either dead or alive you would have at your fantasy dinner party::
Assuming that they can all speak English... Da Vinci, Robert Oppenheimer, Jesus, Attila (the Hun), JP Donleavy.
Why:
Da Vinci because his mind worked in such bizarre ways; I'd like to get an idea how he generated such creativity and practicality. Oppenheimer to find out if he had any idea what his work would lead to in terms of destruction and if he cared or if he removed ethics from his development process. Jesus to find out how much is true and how much is exaggerated. Attila simply to meet a person with that drive, power, etc. Finally, JP Donleavy because I expect he has a sharp mind and could keep up with the conversation, but would inject humor into the evening.
If a pilot would fly you anywhere you want, you would go to:
Antarctica... but only if we had the proper equipment, of course.
My perfect slice of pizza is:
Completely dependant upon my mood, but I will fall back on sausage, pepperoni, green olives, green peppers, and extra cheese.
You are at a bar. You order this drink:
A tasty microbrew or imported beer. I'll take a Bell's Two Hearted Ale if they've got it.
You are at a coffee shop. What coffee or tea do you order:
Something black and bold, but not roasted to death. Relatively equatorial-- e.g. Kenyan or Ethiopian. No cream or sugar, and none of those frilly drinks.
If a genie could grant you three wishes they would be (separate by commas):
An end to nationalistic hostilities throughout the world, a billion dollars split between my cash investments and IRA, and an end to hunger.
You are going on a long road trip and you can only bring three CD's. Which ones do you bring (separate by commas):
Korn - Issues, Pink Floyd - Animals, Strauss - New World Symphony.
If I could do anything for my neighborhood today, it would be:
Set up a fund to underwrite a major expansion of the Neighborhood Association's pool to eliminate the waiting list (it will be big enough to accomodate all members) and to remove the pool maintenance surcharge (all members could use it for free).
A sunset I remember:
 How diffraction of light works.
Any character I could be from a movie, TV show or book would be:
Peter Parker/Spider Man... think comic books rather than the movies.
Why:
Again with the strength, speed, and agility, as well as a huge reserve of energy and a great sense of humor. Tack on him being able to help lots of people in many different ways and going home to Mary Jane (depending upon where we are in the time line) and it's just about perfect.
