My Week…Living in the moment and appreciating the past

I have had a lot going on in my life for the past few months.  My emotions have run the gamut, from the highest highs (the birth of my friend’s first daughter, getting to a point where I can appreciate the simple things in life on a daily basis, success for our clients work projects and much more).  On the other side of things that have not been as positive or the so called Lows (moments of doubt, living through the death of 3 people that were close to people in my life (more on that in a moment), and working through a situation where a person in my life is not acting in a mature or responsible manner and appears to have been telling me lie after lie and will not act in any sort of reasonable or mature manner).  I am doing everything that I can to put her and her actions behind me!!

Friday 3/12/10…8:00 PM I receive text from a friend of mine and she informs me that she just received word that her 24 year old sister was killed in a one car traffic accident.   As it turns out no drugs or drinking was involved, she simply lost control of her car, rolled it 4 times and was launched through the wind shield (No Seat Belt!!)

Thursday 3/18/10…I call a long time friend of mine to catch up on a couple of things and we get to talking and I can tell he is down.  He goes on to tell me that his grandmother (who I have known since I was a child) passed away.  She lived a full life and passed away gracefully with her friends and family at her side.

Friday 3/19/10…I get a text message from a friend and golf buddy indicating that his fiancé passed away last night, from complications with lung cancer.  She was in her late 40’s, way too young to lose that fight.

I am saddened by all 3 of these events that my friends are living through at the moment.

So my point to myself and anyone who cares to read is this….I have been reading a number of the recent blogs  and there seems to be more than a couple of people that are so depressed that they claim they do not want to continue on.  Make the choice to move forward, find something positive to work toward or for.  Take a moment and do something for yourself, if not for your self do something kind for a complete stranger.   There is good in this world, we just have to work to find it.  The saddest part of the 3 people that are no longer with us is that 2 of them could have made better choices.  Don’t Smoke and wear your seatbelt!!!

Life is a gift, appreciate it every day!!!Smile
