says: I admire your courage and honesty. I too have given up alcohol. Fortunately for me, I gave it up before I caused to much damage in my personal life. Both my parents were alcoholics and I always told myself that if I felt it was getting to be a problem I would seek help immediately. So far 8 months and no wine, not even a sip.

Well Done!! I love the idea of calling yourself a "non-drinker" it sounds so positive! To say you're an alcoholic sounds like you have a problem (which you will have had in the past, but not anymore). Saying you're a non-drinker is saying you don't drink, not a drop. It's like taking control of your life, almost like an affirmation, every time you say it, either to yourself or others, you are affirming your ability to control your drinking and choose not to drink.
