Day 4 - and some great moments

Day 4 was all about Success is no secret.  It's very true.  You'd think that since I derive a good portion of my income from being a professional poker player I might bristle at someone telling me that there is no such thing as luck.  Trust me, I have seen the ugliest of ugly runs of luck.

Coach Steele is right though.  Even when I have horrific luck, I know that I accepted the possibility of this happening when I agreed to start playing.  I also had the chance that my luck would be unbelievably good.  In the end though, when you look at those who are successful and those who aren't, it has less to do with what run of cards they were dealt, and more to do with how they reacted when things were going their way vs when they weren't.  If you get paralyzed and quit when you're down, it's hard to make progress.  If you can teach yourself to put it all in perspective and march forward, then your success is guaranteed in the long run.

Things are going well for me.  My "no complaints" campaign is going extremely well.  Often I trail off in the middle of a sentence to receive a confused look from my conversational partner.  I realize I'm about to make a complaint and nip it before it even gets out.  It's teaching me so much about the power of attitude and perspective.

I was out yesterday having some fun at a local arcade.  I was very friendly to a few of the patrons I met as well as the woman working behind the counter.  The positivity just kept snowballing.  I had a few people cheering me on as I was playing a game, and I was able to put a smile on a lot of people's faces.  When I went to buy a few tokens, I was nonchalantly given extra with a thank you.  The entire experience felt great for all involved and it was powerful knowing that it was a choice on all of our parts to co-create that.  Talk about finding your opportunities!

Onto the rest of the day...
