Day 7 - one week down

I recorded a milestone for myself for finishing one week.  I never did this before, and think it's fitting that I start while I am learning how to be more appreciative and supportive of myself.

Each morning I wake up is like a little mini battle.  In one corner we have the part of me that wants to start thinking logistics and planning.  The other part remembers how much happier I am when I take the time to wake up acknowledging myself.  It sets such a better tone to the day.  After all, what do you have at the end of the day (or the beginning, heh) if you can't be at peace with yourself?

From that perspective, the positive self talk and indeed the goals we pursue as we navigate the day are all in fact a means to that end.  They help us feel at peace with ourselves and happy about our lives.  That encourages me to be good to myself even more often.  It also discourages me from lapsing into judgment, which becomes tantamount to sprinting in the opposite direction of your goals.

You can't always change your circumstances, but you can always change your perspective, and I'll admit I am enjoying this one :)

Have a wonderful day everyone!
