What a difference doing the work makes

I'm on my 2nd round through TOOLs on Day 14.

This time I really resolved that I would do everything and not let myself out of things that I thought didn't apply to me.

I have to say, I'm impressed.  Things work so much better when you just resolve to give it your all.  There isn't this chunk of energy that's diverted into choosing whether to say yes or no, and figuring out if something is going to get the cut.  I just throw myself enthusiastically into everything.  It bypasses that entire doubtful part of my mind.

I think my favorite parts so far are: drinking water, brushing my teeth.  They're great because you get to repeat them often throughout the day so there is a sense of building a little bit of discipline each time you follow through.  They send a wonderful message of loving yourself.

The wakeup routine along with starting the day with some music are both incredible as well.  The routine sometimes feels like it helps me carry myself through.  Better yet, by the time I'm done with it, I don't feel like I'm dragging - I feel up and energized.  I'd had a little glimpse of this before, but being truly consistent with it makes a world of difference.

Having already gone through Tools once, my ear is also much better attuned to complaints and excuses.  This is definitely making life easier.  Now that I'm back at the beginning I'm getting a whole new opportunity to revisit some of my tendencies and it's ending up even more beneficial.

I'm excited to keep going!
