Really liked your summary of yourself! Hope you are finding tools useful. I am a single mum too and also hoped tools would help with the elusive 'balance'. It IS helping, even though I must say the abundance in my life now is quite overwhelming at times! Boost for our continued journey! Blessings
Hi: Thanks for inviting me to be your friend. I'm not sure how to do the technical work to put you on my list of friends. If you know the answer to this problem, let me know, and I can add you to my list of friends.
I'm glad to be here too, this is such an awesome community... I really love it... OK gushing now, but i am so glad i signed up and took action, instead of my usual signing up and forgetting about it...
I guess this is the space where I should be saying something really interesting or exciting about myself... um...!!!
So why am I here..?? I am a mainstream hippy chic, who doesn't seem to fit any mould so I have cast my own... I home educate my 2 wonderful sons who inspire me daily. The eternal student I love books, documentaries, computers, chewing the cud and putting the world to rights..
Been a single parent for nearly 5 years with no input or support from their dad for most of that time. We've had a horrendous 6 years which began with the boys and I having a nasty car crash.... won't bore you with the details but I nearly didn't come through everything that was thrown at us... but... today we are moving forward positively and life is on the up at last albeit very slowly.
I'm known for my cheesy, dimply grin.... going out of my way to help other people to bring a smile... always being on the go... being passionate about what i believe in... managing to look on the bright side of situations, no matter how bad they are... and for some strange reason, 'having all the answers'... which I most definitely don't!
Not a favourites person, I know a little about a lot of things, but don't have any specialised area... yet!! Perceived as being confident, outgoing, knowlegable, organised and on top of things, when i'm usually not..!! Hence the main reason I'm here.... to try to bring some order to my life, to build my confidence, get some balance, focus and belief in myself as well as generally improving myself... phew!
I need to be prodded, poked and nagged to stay on course because I'm the Queen of 'unfinished projects', hopefully this active community will be the push i need, to kick start further improving myself and my life..
You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:
Informing and enlightening people to help guide them on their path... Need to get my own life fully in order first.. but one day i would love to have a retreat/support centre to help people who are struggling especially single parents and their kids that have been emotionally or physically bullied.
I would also love to be in the position to kick some butt over some of my soap box topics..
My favorite wild animal is:
Thats so hard to answer as i'm really not a favourites person but also because i go to our local Safari park quite often and so many of the animals there are endearing.. although clearly NOT in the wild...
I like Tigers, Lions, lemurs, Monkeys, Elephants, Giraffes, Deer and zebras
Why (describe as much as possible):
Courage of the cats (Lions and Tigers),
Agility of the primates (Lemurs and Monkeys),
Strength of the Elephant,
The 'reach' of the Giraffe,
Elegance and nobility of the Deer,
Thr unique contrast of the Zebra,
And with all of them, their wonderful maternal instincts and team work..
My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):
A cat.. or two.. and/or a small dog such as a pug or Bichon!!
Cats are so comforting and always seem to know when you need them... and they ask so little in return.
A famous Chef will prepare anything you want. What do you order:
As long as it .. looks good.. smells good.. tastes good.. and doesn't contain bell peppers i would enjoy pretty much anything. Prefer a healthy balanced meal with colour and variety... I'm partial to Duck (sorry to all you veggies, but i really love my meat...)
If a pilot would fly you anywhere you want, you would go to:
Australia so i can do the Sydney bridge walk and Florida as I owe my sons a holiday there, before they get too old to enjoy Disney
My perfect slice of pizza is:
Usually have mushroom, onion, sweetcorn and pineapple.. go figure!
But if i'm eating in a restaurant i love bella Pasta's 'Duck with hoisin sauce pizza' or any with spinach btu even better with an egg in the centre... bet you wish you hadn't asked now..
You are at a bar. You order this drink:
Don't really go out to a bar often but...Gordons Gin and slimline tonic, white wine spritzer or a Bottle of Bud, depends on the pub, the company, the situation and the weather, with dinner it could be red wine and a nice Baileys with ice after... but of course if i'm driving i don't drink..!
You are at a coffee shop. What coffee or tea do you order:
I don't really drink coffee, I mostly drink camomile and spearmint or peppermint tea..
If a genie could grant you three wishes they would be (separate by commas):
For an abundant life... and i don't mean financially i mean in all the other more important ways..!
For my sons to live a happy and fulfilling life.
To be able to help as many people as possible to improve their lives..
A sunset I remember:
Tenerife in 1993, standing naked on the balcony watching the sun setting it was absolutely awesome... its one of my fave photos despite my a**e looking big in it..
