Walking inside, discs..??
Hi Starling,
what a great idea, i've never heard of them before, could you tell me where you get them or who makes them as I'd love to get one for my mum... she was a UK size 6/8 until she turned 60. Now at 65 she's a UK size 14.. I think she looks healthier, she was too skinny before, but she hates it.. a walking inside disc would be a great idea for her..
Personally i lurve treadmills, they are my fave exercise machine, but getting to a gym is challenging, as i home ed my sons and have no sitters or money to pay sitters..!! I am working on both, but i would love to buy a machine of my own for use at home..
Was it you who posted on someone's blog saying you know a way to clear a 'stuck' toolbox if its not moving on a day? If it is could you please let me know the way to do it as mine has got stuck twice now!!
thanks, take care
Jaye
This is a re-run ... or walk!
Fistly, well done for overcoming the obvious excuse of the rain to NOT exercise ...
And secondly, I repeat Jaye's interest in the DVDs you mention ... please let me know what they're all about and where to get them ...
I'm on holiday with great friends in Calgary but my home is in the UK so would really appreciate info on walking inside ...
Well done again and keep it up, just as you've done with Tools - it helps so much to keep you doing things you know you should be doing ... excuses come too easy!!
Stick to the task - take care - Suzanne
Good girl! Keep on walkin'
Oh, before you know it you'll be on the treadmill. Remember at least the treadmill has two handles to hold on to which is helpful. For those who are interested in walking tapes, both Richard Simmons and Jane Fonda have them out and you could probably order them on Amazon.com.
I like walking to Dominican music because the beat just makes me want to dance!
Walk Away The Pounds
I use the Walk Away the Pounds series. I bought my first ones at a Sam's Club (a club you join for the folks in the UK), but I have also bought others from a store in a rehabilitation hospital, so the easy ones are really good for someone who had just given up a cane. Or just plain anyone who is a beginner.
Some versions of her 1 Mile Walk are easier than others. I've also got one of her disks for Older Adults. That is actually about 1-1/2 miles.
When I was still using the cane they were too hard. I did floor exercises first on my bed and then I had a therapist teach me how to get down on the floor and up again. Some exercises are much too hard to do on a soft surface because you have nothing to push against.
