THREE WEEKS !!

Wow ... I've actually COMPLETED three weeks worth of Tools!.

Now, that may seem an odd thing to brag about, considering the total length of time I've been in here. BUT ... since day 9 (I believe) all of them have been consecutive ... and that's sayig something for me.

I've noticed a lot of things happening and changing.

One thing that's struck me recently is this:

I ALREADY KNOW THIS STUFF!

That's right ... I DO already know and understand the concepts that I'm putting to use by doing Tools. But that's just the thing ... and the genius behind what's here. KNOWING and UNDERSTANDING, is simply not the same thing as PUTTING TO USE.

Tools is taking all that I already intellectually understand about the Law of Attraction, the Law of Accumulation, Positive Thinking, having a Good Attitude, and Thoughts being Things ... and putting them TO USE in a step by step, easily accomplished process that anyone ... including ME ... can do.

I taught skiing professionally for 8 years. When I have a beginning student that wants to learn skiing, I don't take them out on an advanced hill and try to teach them a Diverging Racing Turn. Rather, I take them out on the bunny hill and teach them how to snow-plow and move their center of gravity around for control. The DR Turn will come after 14 baby steps that are easily accomplished ... IF they are approached, experienced, and mastered one at a time and in order.

Here's where my Breakthrough (which is really an insight) comes in. If I was working with that student, there is NO WAY I would take them out on the first day and even TRY to explain the physics of the turn we will EVENTUALLY achieve. There is no way, at this point, that that student could possibly understand that when they do their first true Diverging Racing Turn, they will actually be skiing on the OUTSIDE EDGE of their UPHILL SKI! They'll be hanging from the snow instead of standing on it!

In Tools ... I've now realized ... it's all leading SOMEWHERE. It isn;t necessary to try to explain where. In fact, it could only be detrimental until at least SOME preliminary work is done. It's much easier to communicate the benefits of hard work towards a goal ... if you are already beginning to see some results along those lines.

If I tried that kind of explanation on the first day of lessons for a new skier ... I'd lose them right then! I can just hear it: "Hanging from the snow! No Way! Too scarey for me!"

So ... thanks Dev. It was never too scarey while we marched through the first 3 weeks. Now we've started to discuss how all of this ties in to lots of things I've understood ... but never knew how to REALLY put to use.

Where does all this rambling lead:

I'M COMIN' BACK AGAIN TOMORROW ...

... and tomorrow ... and tomorrow ...

!!
