Dreamer

I am a dreamer. Sometimes that is a good thing. I also find it a hard thing to deal with. I am not saying that as a complaint, but I  just wish the gap between my dream and my life wasn't so far. I am here to work on action steps to get to my dream.

For an example of my dreams... I want to move to a smaller house. I live in a huge old house built in 1898 (that 112 yrs old) It has 5 bed rooms and 2 full bathroom. Sounds great right? Well it was while my family was here but now it's just me and my husband. It takes a ton of money to do the up keep and heat the place. So even though I want to move I don't know where to start. I am not working and have not found a way to earn income yet. Money is an issue along with many other challenges we have to overcome in order to move. I want to downsize our life and it seem like a realistic dream but I am not getting closer to that goal. If my area a big old houses are a dime a dozen so they do not sell for a good price. The plan is t update the old kitchen as suggested by a real estare broker who looked at the house. It is the only part of the house we did not remodel.  We do not have the money for that.  I keep thinking it will happen but it is a dream at this point.

This blog is getting too long.  I just had to vent a little. All better now...thanks blog!

Sincerely, Sunrose

Hmmm complaint or truth?

Hi Sunrose -

I read your blog last night and can totally relate.  I live in the historic section of Syracuse...each house is filed with charm and character, including mine.  Old, solid, from way back in the day. And a bit of a money pit!

I too long for something simpler, a place with more sunshine (Syracuse has very few sunny days and it can get quite gray being a bit of a mental bummer)....I managed to perennial garden myself into a few to many projects outside and the general up keep is what it is!

Yet, I think there is a place for a simple reality check.  It you don't acknowledge where you are, how can you know where you want to go and the steps you need to take to get there?

I like that fact that you dream and are a dreamer.  It means you are alive and moving forward.  You have determination and are making changes.....sounds great to me!

I look forward to hearing what you decide.
