Depression

In the evening before going to bed I get a feeling of impending doom.  Is this a normal feeling when tired, depression or what?  Does anyone else ever feel this way?

says: Everybody has their ups and downs... the point is that you can when you go to bed to imagine yourself how in three years time you are fitness instructor and approached your ideal weight. You can trust yourself you will get up in the morning and do gymnastics or yoga for 1-2 hours. I promise you if you do this for 3 years you will solve all your weight problems.

says: Aside from my bed in my room I do have a tv, video games system, books, me, my bf and the dog....Thats whats relaxing to me....I do like checklists also. It helps me remember what I have 2 do the next so I can have start when I get up....

says:

Check list for the next day helps me. I have a hard times getting zzz's if i feel i am forgetting something. This week coash asked us to read a 'learning' book" if we were unable to settle doem to get to sleep. If my mind in tired, my body follows.

Another thinkg I do is to make my bedroom a haven. No TV, no work, just me, spouse and sleep. And the dogs. What ever brings you peace, put it in your room. Peace is good.

says: Depression is mainly a feeling that you didn't get something done you wanted to achieve, or you're bored at what you do for work... It can also happen if your relationship is not fullfilling your feelings. But the thing to do is to think differently about the problem. What can I do differently to make my life better... Most problems have easy solutions if you open your mind to how can I feel better... Is there something I'm doing to cause me to feel that way, Why?   I am a great person and I like myself, think about a good time you once had that you really enjoyed yourself... How do I project myself to others and to myself, smile and just say to yourself "I really love me", feel it inside, see I can do it!!!    Try it It works :-)

says: I think its depression mostly. Sometimes throughout our day we get to busy to really think but when winding down we tend to let our minds wander. I think it is natural for people to have a little doubt or negativity. Some of us have it a bit more to make it not normal.

says:

great explanation, susan!

for my part, i recommend taming that symptom with an .mp3 player or walkman and a wonderful audiobook.  my mind is overactive and i tend to think all sorts of negative things as soon as the sun goes down.  i always look forward to being distracted by a good story that i can take to bed with me.  there are also some great (and free) podcasts out there - some tell short stories, some tell jokes, some have relaxing visualizations, etc.

says: I've always blaimed it on depression. I feel like I've not gotten enough done during the day and that's part of it. I do know that living in the UK is not as easy as it is here. I was lucky enough to get to visit in several homes when I was over there. Shopping is done more often and they didn't have as many little labor saving devices. If you are from another country, you could also be missing home. Try telling yourself that you'll take care of things tomorrow and try to rest.
