I live in Gilbert, Arizona and have 2 wonderful, grown sons.  I am recently divorced after 24 years and as with many spouses the affair was a shock.  I am working through the steps and will be in a better place very soon. 

I work for the Arizona Dept. of Transportation and love my job and my boss.  I have been a paralegal for most of the working life. I have lost touch with most of my previous friends as many couples do.  I am not faced with new challenges of reinventing myself at a time in my life I thought I would be enjoying my best friend (spouse), travel and eventually daughters-in-laws and grandchildren.  I believe the latter 2 my sons will deliver in the future at some time. 

I am passionate about staying healthy and do cardio exercise about 4 times a week - just for me!  I am confident it helps me in the overall scheme of life.

As I stated above, I was married for 24 years, have 2 great sons and divorced 30 days ago.  I have worked in the legal field all of my career and finished my college degree right before my 50th birthday. That was the only unfinished business on my list for many years.  My husband and I raise the boys in the early delevopment years with outdoor sports and academics.  It was a great mix.  This marriage was my second and the children are mine from my first marriage.  However, the children loved my husband and he was their true "father".  My husband did not want his own children.  Hindsight, I wish we had sought family counseling early on but did not.  Funny, he was in the legal/family counseling field as well and we still ignored the need to counsel.  We later had a commuting relationship and that is where it all feel apart.  I am passive and wanted a traditional marriage.  He became egocentric and with a narcisstic personality.  I didn't know much about all that until my own counseling and reading.  It helps to understand all the issues of both sides in order to move forward.

Both my parents are deceased but they were loving, wonderful role models.  I miss them but we were lucky for a wonderful family dynamic. 

Still working through the grieving steps and am hopeful that after the next few months and holidays I will be on my way. 

I am working on new choices as the past ones just aren't working for me.  I am as I said passive but I do enjoy meeting new people and am very social.  I just need to be put in the environment, which means you have to work on getting out - that's the tough part.  Work cuts into the majority of the week!  I am taking a class series for my job profession which always keeps be busy.

I think I want something positive to happen all to soon.  I repeatedly remind myself give everything time.  I want to begin to enjoy my life which I have not done for many, many years.  I really do look forward to that.  The future is just making the right positive choices. 

I want to establish great friends to talk with, laugh with and enjoy life.
