I'm just gonna talk about Harry Potter again

I'm really excited but I have to keep it contained since it's only Tuesday. Three days has never felt so long.

My wife and I are making a concerted effort to get the house in to a state that can be completely ignored for the entire weekend. So far the downstairs is clean and the fridge is mostly cleaned (doing a bit every day so it doesn't overwhelm me, although today was tough, some kind of red stuff fully hardened in the back corner, icky). Tomorrow will be upstairs and some laundry.

I plan on finishing this book over the weekend. My wife and I read Order of the Phoenix in two days so this one should be no problem.

I don't think I told this story already so here goes.

I was talking to the Barnes and Noble checker the other day. Talking about the midnight release and she told me that the store had ordered 3000 copies. My initial reaction was that was for the store and the pre-orders combined. She told me that she was pretty sure that the number represented only pre-orders. I was shocked since this is a moderately small town (roughly half a million spread between 4 or 5 cities). BN is gonna be a zoo on Friday. I hope I can take pictures.

A date with a book...

I hope you can take pictures too. If not you won't forget the experience I'm sure! the radio had a show today about the "illegal" copies that were sold early by a store, and the author "pleading" with people to please abide by the release date and keep the mystery. Of course some are trying to get hold of early copies and make money...one was on Ebay for $250 until they caught him. The author said part of the joy of the books is this having to wait. It's delicious! It's terrible! It's fun! They said a lot of parents plan for their kid to stay up ALL NIGHT so they can finish the book. Talk about all in one gulp!

Do you see the movies first, or ever?

Pretty soon now....

Books First

When I first heard about the first movie my wife and I decided that we should check out the book since the previews looked so cool. Over the next two weeks both she and I had managed to finish all the books that were available at the time (1-4 if I recall) before the fisrt movie came out. We each finished the last one (Half Blood Prince) in two days.
