It's hot out

Mearly a statement of fact. Not making excuses. We live in the mojave desert and it's July and it's really hot right now. At some point we made the choice to move back here (at the time the excuse was for work) and to be perfectly honest I have regretted every day of it.

I once had somebody tell me that they saw water when they thought of me. They came to the conclusion that whatever I did and wherever I went it needed to involve water. I was told this a couple months ago and to be honest it has perplexed me since. I puzzled and puzzled over it until today when I realized that it didn't have to mean that I needed to be doing something with water but rather that I might need to live in a place that has lots of water. I've no desire to move across the country to the East Coast so I set my mind on west coast cities. Seattle, WA and San Fransisco, CA popped in to my head almost instantly. If you live or have lived in either of those places it would be cool if you dropped me a note and told me what you think of them.

Seattle & San Francisco

I have actually lived close to both of these cities.

Seattle is probably my favorite of the two, but they are close in likeness.

Seattle is more...what's the word...cozy. In the winter, it's cool and rainy. I love the feeling of the city. It's old and eclectic.  I like the rain. In the summer it will be sunny and then out of the blue it will be raining. Not all the time, but it does rain quite a bit. For me this is great. I like cooler weather.

San Francisco is another great bay city. Very unique and cultural. To me it's a bit too big and expensive. I do like the weather. Definitely cooler since it's on the bay. It has lots of fog too. The houses are really unique and have a definitely San Francisco style. This city is more of a public transportation city. Having a car is a bit of a nuisance because parking is quite limited. I think SF may be more compact - more people, houses on top of each other.

I live about an hour and a half south of SF close to Santa Cruz. I live in the mountain area in the redwoods. It's amazing over here. I'm about 6 minutes from the ocean and about 30 minutes to San Jose. There are lots of options on the "outskirts" of San Francisco.

Although...it is cheaper to live in Seattle. Wink

Just some random thoughts for ya!
