Music

I would like to find some new music to inspire
me but have no idea what to look for. I have
tried listening to the radio, but they always
play the same songs over and over!

What music do you use to lighten your
mood?

I think I have an unfair advantage. lol.

Hi Viktoria,

I love music. It lifts my mood like nothing else can.

And, my son is musically creative. So, whenever I am in a mood, I can ask him to "whip something up" for me.

Depending on how complex I am at the moment, he can usually accomodate me pretty quickly. Then all of the grey skies lift.

Salsa is also a favorite of mine. It gets me moving even though I will never be mistaken for a good dancer.

Finally, if none of those work, I just start singing. Pretty soon, I am laughing hysterically at myself and whatever seemed so bad, is mild in comparision to my off-pitch and tone-deaf tune.

Hope this helps.

Gwyn

Music

Hello Viktoria, You could try The Lighthouse Family, Seal, Enya, Medwyn Goodall. It all pretty much depends on for what you want to be inspired. You can find some pretty cool tunes if you browse through some of the profiles. I hope you find what you're looking for. Steve

New Music

Yah Steve said it. Listening to the music people have posted in the MEDIA section, I discovered some great tunes. And some tunes I may not like but it was still fun to see what's out there.

You can also read lists of music people like, on the profile page to the left side.

Then I went to a music store and spent time just listening to bits of music. Here they have headphones for that purpose.

I hear you about the radio. I read recently that top officials have been fined, BIG fines, for taking BRIBES from large music corporations in trade for playing certain songs often. Supposedly now the radio stations will now be free to play a wider range of music.

You could write to your local stations...tell them they are dull and repetitive. Letters DO have impact.

Enjoy! I had a GREAT time finding new music.

On line music

Oh...I should add that some people in the know here in Tools turned me on to iTunes, rhapsody and other ONLINE music sources. You can go listen to all kinds of music on line, or download or purchase. As probably you know. I didn't know that.  I feel so 21st century now!
