Birds of a Feather

People show their colors. What they are about. As they should. Take birds. "Birds of a feather" know each other by the color patterns of their feathers, by their songs, and by behavior, like clinging to a tree verus hopping along the ground. If a bird fails to learn the song that says who he is, similar birds don't recognize him. This week I'm thinking about how to wear my true colors more vibrantly. I remember reading that when others walk into your home, it's good l if they see who you are, who you've been, whom you love, and where you are going.  It takes courage though, to sit out on a branch in the open, and sing your song. That song not only says, "I am a Baltimore Oriole." But it clarifies who one is not. In the Tao, as I understand it, they speak about taking a sharp sword, and cutting away all the indecision, wrong turns, false associations...everything you can. Until the clean, precise person and his or her direction stands there.  Until you sing your exact, true song.
