hanging out with flowers and sun

I had a lot of errands to do but it was also the last week my Botanical Garden membership is good. So I zipped off the highway, what the heck, to give myself a few hours with flowers and sun.

I forget how GREAT that feels. To just step out of the traffic, the errands, the chores and take some time out in a place that rejuvenates and nourishes my spirit. I could feel the place soothe my mind, emotions and body within just a few minutes. WOW that felt great.

They had a bonus I hadn't expected. A crazy, hilarious group of glass and tile sculptures. There was for instance three big ladies with huge bottoms and bosoms, wearing bright swimsuits and dancing in the fountain spray. Over by the rose garden two big-butt, thick armed basketball players shined in the sun. They were all in great condition, being physical, happy....they didn't stop living life fully just because they are what we used to call Comely. Pleasantly Plump. Hour glass. Full figured.

I took a lot of photos of a bright yellow lady with her arms up, legs dancing, seeming to whirl in the spray of the fountain while the sun danced on her glass and tiles.

We can be joyous, participate in life, laugh and dance and hit the hoops, at any time and size. (Yes you CAN). Don't wait until you are at that "beach" condition. Every heart wants to run, leap, play, laugh. It's good for us, and good for others to see.

We have too many commercials (and people) telling us we are not ok, we should be ashamed, we should cover up and stay indoors until we fit the right mold. But no! Get out there and leap in the fountain, raise your arms in joy, dance, dance, dance! How else are you going to feel motivated, part of life, and get in better condition so you can feel even more joy and energy?

I was in a dance class once where a tall, big African-American woman danced all us off the floor. I mean she could move that body, she was filled with energy and music, she loved who she was and it showed. I learned a lot from her.

Say this 100 times to yourself today:

I am gorgeous and filled with the passion and spirit of life, today!

I had a great time, at the botanical.
