Follow up/ my son's surgery

We went to the surgeon's office today.  He agreed that my son's wrist was badly shattered and would require a surgical repair.  If we don't, his arm will grow back deformed.  A cast is not a good option.  His surgery is scheduled this Friday in the afternoon and surprisingly, he'll get to come home the same day.

The surgeon plans to insert some steel plates in his arm so that he can heal faster, use his muscles without the restrictions of a cast, and not have near as much Physical Therapy.  This is ALL good news for us.  My son just wants to get the surgery so he can get on with his life.  He's learning that unnecessary risks are not smart choices especially when it affects work, income, and of course; pain.

We're getting through it.

Best Wishes for John

Hey!  Sorry about the surgery but best he gets it fixed as soon as possible.  You are right about this being a learning experience for him and maybe this pain will keep him from taking other more dangerous risks in the future.  My sons are in their 30s and I still worry about their safety.  I will be thinking of you on Friday.

Sending you lots of love Sending you lots of love

sending thoughts and well wishes too

So strange...this near exact thing just happened to a ten year old son of people I know. They were telling me about it this week. The pins and steel plates and the whole thing. His surgery is already done and it went great, he's fine, he will deal with it all his life in very small ways but all in all it's amazing what they can do to repair these accidents....so wishing you all the best. Your love for him is shining through so bright....

Hope everything is going well

I found you on my toolbox page today since we are on the same day and read your blog.

I hope you and your son are doing well. Surgery is always a worry, but usually once it is over you are so glad you went and took care of whatever was wrong.

Sending you a hug Sending you a hug
