Be more like a baby....

The other morning, I woke up and Charlotte was smiling away and quickly getting off the bed to do her morning dance routine. She is 16 months and is a performer already. But on her way to the mirror (we have huge foor to ceiling mirrors on the closet) she kept falling down. But, of course, as all babies do she got back up. She continued to dance in front of the mirror smiling and laughing, with her proud parents clapping when she would stop an stare at us...But she every once and a while she would catchher toe and fall. She has been walking for 4 months but still isn't totally steady...anyways as I am watching this, heart is melting, all those mushy mom things....but I realised I should learn from what I am seeing. Here is a happy baby desires are her own and relativ to an adults. she falls, Not just once but tons throughout the day. Every once and a while she will cry, depending on how big the fall but mostly she just gets back up an keeps going, likenothing happened. But with each fall comes more experience.

Could you imagine if, when she fell, that she would just lay there and complain and moan and roll around and stay in that position? How silly that would look? Well, isnt it was we, adults do? Here we are, going through life, everythng is great. Something happens to us and we are hurt, we lose our job, a relationship fails, etc...a we really milk it. We do! I hope I m not being too bold in saying so. But it really makes us aults look like 'babies' when you compare the two. I do understand that our problems as adults seem much more complex than a babies, but it is all relatvie.

I realised how complaining, whining, and 'milking' our problems really are learned responses. If they weren't we woul NEVER learn to walk. We try once, fail, and that woul be it! We would never have made it past infancy.....So I learned a life lesson from my baby girl, who has only been in this world for 16 months. One fall shouln't ruin anything, if anything it should give us more experience so next time we will be better.

This is just one more reason why I am so grateful to be her mother. Today is a great day :)

Good advice

That has to be the best advice I have heard all day, thanks... And today I am proud to say that yes, I am going to act like a baby!
