The hardest Challenge

OK - I am really struggling with one of my goals.  I need to connect with the strong healthy body that is containing my strong healthy mind (thanks Tools to Life).

You see, I have sat back and half heartedly thought that by half heartedly committing my body to exercise that I would magically lose weight and be happy on the outside.  Well folks, it is going to take a little more than half-hearted to bring this goal home.

I know what to do (former athlete) but struggle on a daily basis to bring this goal to life.  It has been my goal for about 7 years now to get my weight down to a healthy level - yep I accept I am not obese - but obesity is only a feather's breath away.

Yes, being trim won't make me a better person - I am pretty comfortable with me now (thanks to Tools) but I really have to make some changes. Many of you who have read my journey know that I am not a negative person, I would class myself as a realist in most instances - but I have not been accepting my weight is an issue. I constantly tell myself little white lies on this front and my friends it is time to stopping the lying altogether.

I need a strong healthy body for 100+ reasons. I accept that it won't happen overnight - realist again - but without making changes albeit minor changes - there will be no healthy person to carry me through the second half of my life.

So to all of you who are struggling with your own issues - find a good friend and get the truth. Without acceptance of the starting point there can be no journey to change!

Mine has come in the form of continual little health issues, inability to truly live up to the true physical challenges I set myself (yep I cross the line and that is an achievement) but I want more.  I want to see my future grandkids grow up, be a picture of health, and be able to look myself in the eye and say I am giving 100% - Are You?  Will you be able to say that in 5/10/20 years time - truthfullly?

So to all I say Carpe diem (seize the day!) but don't forget to be investing in tomorrow - 44 years creep up on you very quickly and the past is just that - the past! Move on!

Quote of the day:-

"Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true." -- Leon Suenens, Clergyman

Have a great day! Angie

Great post, angieszz

Great post, angieszz. Thanks for the inspiration to keep going forward.

I'm getting stuck on some of my goals, too. All I can suggest in maybe break it down a little further into smaller pieces and be patient with yourself. You sound pretty dedicated to me, so I'm betting that you can achieve your this weight loss thing!

Great post!

You are an inspiration angieszz! I am on Day 74 of TOOLS and learned today that food is just the symptom, not the issue. I have battled being obese all of my life and thought if I just tried one more program I could fix my weight problem and life would be perfect. Little did I know that food was just the way of filling "the void" of much deeper problems.

Be patient, be positive, you have already come so far! I am rooting for you!

Small consistent steps! Starting is the motivation.

You can do it, keep going!

You can do it, keep going!

You've always been there for the rest of us. MB is right.  We are all rooting for you!
