says: Carl, reading something motivational is a great way to change your mood. It sounds like you are aware the soft drinks are a problem, and recognizing the problem as such is often the first step. Now that you realize it has not worked for you in the past try something different now. I drink herb tea. I love hot coffee, but I tend to drink way too much over a short period of time so instead I drink hot tea, Tazo brand is my personal preference for several reasons. Mainly because the supermarket where I shop carries it consistently, and my favorite verities are Zen, Organic Chi or Calm and all three have a unique flavor. You may consider meditation, and in a calm quiet place clear your mind, take a deep cleansing breath, release it slowly, then continue to breath in a focused manner. Maintain an awareness of your breath, in and out. While in a calm meditative state ask your body what it needs, and in that calm quiet state of mind, listen. You may be surprised at the simplicity.

Hi Carl, as you probably know, when your body chemistry is out of whack from dosing it with caffiene and the chemicals in soda all the time, your emotions can go right with it.  You know you've got to stop drinking those things, but as you cut back try ginseng or some tasty raw cacao beans for energy. Meditation or exercise is good for calming the mind.  Best wishes!
