What good is this...

... if I can't do the exercises?

Okay, that isn't my question. My question is - I'm only on day five, but I'm already sort of stumped by the fact that I keep hitting the snooze button. I know it's my responsibility but just saying that isn't changing my behavior. If I don't even do the first exercise, how am I supposed to get anything out of this program?

If someone gets on here and tells me, "that's right, you just need to follow the exercises," without any suggestions for how to make myself do them, I swear to God I am going to delete my account.

I think there are a couple of things you can do.

1. As dsd suggested, move your alarm clock so far away that you have to get out of bed to turn it off.

2. Put a sign next to your alarm clock saying, GET UP, or whatever works for you, or whatever you think you can't ignore.

3. Find a show on tv you like that is on the same time as you want to get up. Perhaps you can enjoy a cup of  coffee watching this, and this is your treat for not sleeping in.

4. Get plenty of sleep so that you don't hit snooze out of sheer exhaustion.

I hear your frustration about not being able to master this initial step. Let me assure you as a long term member of Tools, you will get a lot out of being here and following what exercises you can than giving up because you think you cannot master one. We all will have tough days - days when we will we don't even want to do anything on the exercises list. Even if you only hit snooze once instead of 14 times like I used to, you will have made progress.

You have a lot to look forward to here - and since you posted this in Oct you may have already mastered this. If not, it's okay. really. I'm glad you are still with us.

says: maybe try ur cell phone as your alarm clock.. or move your clock away from your bed ....you will have to get up and shut it off.. by then maybe you will be awake enough to start the day. deb
