What about negative energy?

I was wondering what to do about negative feelings toward a circumstance.  I am not really commenting negatively about myself, but when I am at my job I just feel down.  It is not fulfilling to me and as a result I can't help but feel depressed and trapped when I am there.  What can I do to get through the day feeling better about the situation.  Some people say that I am lucky to have a job and should focus on that.  I agree, however, I see time going by and my goals not being accomplished and it just brings me down.

Any suggestions?

says: Thank you both for your advice.  It seems as I travel through this program my questions get answered over time, as is the case with life in general.  I appreciate you taking your time to answer my question.

says: Well, I hated being at my job too, until I started this reflection and focuses on myself and not the "stinky" attitudes of the others around me in the poison pit I call work....LOL One thing my husband said once was "Is a job a means to do the things in life that you want to do or is it your identity or a passion." Both are valid in my opinion. I chose to stay at my job because of the flexibility and proximity to my home. Was that at all helpful:)

says: Good advice.  Thanks for your help.

says:

Try to see the positive in your situation-- not just that you have a job, but there have to be other things!

If you are truly that unhappy with your job, look for a new one! It's 100% easier to get a new job when you currently have one!

I would also try to evaluate how much your job should affect your mood, if it is not actively hurting you, it should not be that  much. Just think of it as a stepping stone towards your goals!
