Confident and content

I have been struggling a little with work lately, I like my job but work too many hours for not enough money.  I have nearly platoued with my company and do not expect to be able to stay where I am and continue to progress.

I am feeling quite free having made a monumental decision.  I will sell my house this summer and be in a position to transfer my efforts sometime in the next year.

I was quite young when I entered the real estate market and it has been a great experience for me.  Now I have some equity in my house which I should be able to free up in order to start the next step...  a leap into commercial real estate.  For a long time I have been speaking about multiple streams of income with my friends and I am feeling like having a building with several spaces (both residential and storefront) will be a great way to go that direction.

My sister has a business idea and may become my tenant.  I will live there as well as start a small business of my own.  I look forward to being more active in my community and with my family, my current job has demended so much of me that gradually I have been volunteering less and doing less socially.  I look forward to changing the nature of how I work, smarter not harder.

Working smarter, not harder

It's funny to read "working smarter, not harder" in your blog.  That is one of my bosses quotes.  When you figure out how to do that, can you let me know? :)  I'm proud of you for going after your dreams.  I'm at the same place in my job right now.  They are re-structuring, and adding more to all of our workloads.  I need to work smarter, because the working harder to accomplish it all, is not working out so well for me.  Good luck with your ventures, as you know you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
