venting

last saturday I went out to a bar with my girlfriend. After a few beers one of HER friends (a man) came up to me and asked if I wanted to go out drinking after the bar closed with him and his friends. I asked my girl if that would be ok and she said yes, I dont have many friends here and it might do me some good to get out.  So I went out and I got drunk and I lost my cellphone... not that that has anything to do with anything.  So of course sunday I didnt want to go out because I was hungover. so when I saw my girlfriend on monday she is being very quiet and doesnt give me a kiss hello or anything. I ask whats up and she says stress from work... I know she's been having trouble there so I believed her until I was leaving and she just said goodnight and walked away. no kiss goodnight. we've been seeing each other for well over a year so I know that is a big indicator.  so the next day which is last night I go back to her house and we sit not talking for about 40 minutes before I really confront her and tell her I know something is wrong, and its not fair to me if she holds it in because when I feel something like that with her I tell her so we can fix the problem before it gets bigger.  So she then tells me because I went out and got drunk and saturday she doesnt trust me.  She thinks that Im only with her because I dont have any other options and that I will leave her for the first thing that comes along.  by the way she doesnt speak english and my spanish is bad... which she thinks is another reason I will leave her. I just dont know what to do to prove to her that Im not that guy.

Tell her your not that guy.

But every couple needs their own time as individuals too. Its ok to go out, have fun seperately and still be that faithful person. And you should discuss the situation and reaffirm your level of trust together. What you should not do is give in, not go out with friends-once in a while- because that will create frustration and resentment down the road. And Im sure the language barrier makes already difficult things a bit more challenging. Take a Spanish class ;)

Trust

Ahh, this is always fun when your partner feels that way.  Just let know that you truly care and make her feel like she is the only one in the world....One year is already a long time so you would think that there would be a lot of trust there already.

Just focus on enjoying your time together and yeah maybe a spanish class would help.

Have a great day! Angie
