very humbling

so we are back from Oregon and the job of taking care of Mom.It's very humbling to be the caregiver (mom has dementia) b/c you never really know what kind of problems you yourself might have in old age... made me think, and be VERY thankful for the abilities I have right now.  And, while I am darn SLEEPY! , (not that there's that much of a time change betw. Oregon and MN, but emotionally, I'm  tired) I am REALLY ready to get on with tools.  There's so much to do in life and I'm ABLE to do it!!

Every Precious Moment

I love that you are appreciating the moments you have right now.  We forget how fortunate we are.  Your mom is lucky to have you too.  Have a great day Cool

born in diapers, die in diapers

My grandfather has (fairly progressed) dementia and I am his main caretaker.  I know what you mean about spending the time and being grateful for what we have.  I try to think positively as much as possible because it is sooooooo mentally draining.  But it's good that we have the opportunity to help.
