3 Weeks Down!

Wow,I can't believe I am here. When I first started this program, I thought .. Lets get through 7 days.. see what its about. And then from there I took off and went, let continue to go forward. Now, Tools has become apart of my daily life. I look forward to each new thing.. and look forward to the happiness, I am giving myself w the help of tools and you people reading this!

Today is shopping day.. To do something that funny enough I just started to do on my own. Read! But, I need to change my reading habits, I tend to read only books on current events( War on Terror) or History( religion, countries, cultures), But very rare to read something for fun, just a book that puts me in a good mood.

So that is one book I am looking forward to getting today. If anyone has any advise on authors for fun books, please let me know. I will not be going for a couple of hours, and I will check back to see.  One of my favorite authors is Clive Barker.. But, I want to branch out into something different.

The other book about something I want to do, this is easy. I told myself this year I would get my scuba license.  So that book, is one I will pick up. I don't have to buy it though.. which is nice.

The last book, funny enough I bought two weeks ago. Lucky/sadly for me, in my career and field we always have to read the newest books out there. Working in IT, I gotta stay on top of what the latest things or trend is. Or try and find what the latest thing is, and try and be the first in my company to get it. Now what I picked up, isn't that but something I wanted to get for a long time. So my goal is to in 3 months to get my CCNA certification.  And by taking 60mins a day to read this.. That should not be a problem at all.

Lastly,  something else I realized not only am I not getting proper sleep, I am not eating enough either. Now some might go.. huh? But, let me explain.

I had a issue with eating in general. Now when I do eat, it is very healthy. I had an ex make fun of me, when we went to Popeye's chicken once, with her going.. She was surprised I eat "junk food". My philosophy on food is  my body is a temple, and I only put into my temple what makes it feel good.  On a side note, I do have a cheat day, that went from me eating cakes and cookies to now I eat Pizza, or red meat ( still with Veggies and salads!)

But, my habit is that if I get busy, I tend to miss meals, which then my body gets over worked and feels tired from not having the proper energy source in it. Now instead of feeling hungry, I feel tired. So I try and sleep more not realizing that I need to eat something first. So I think I am going to set up a eating schedule to help me out. No matter what I am doing during that time, I will eat something. Be it an apple or my full lunch, so that I can set up a new habit of eating to make sure I have the energy to complete my day.. And of course, read Cheetah's blogs (hehehehe)

Thanks again everyone for advise and all that you do, you help make this a better place to come to, and something I look forward to doing in my early mornings.

books

Heyo!

Its nice to see ur motivation dn the eating more --- holy smokers batman are we suddenly coming up with things to better our life on OUR OWN now?!?! lol

good for you :)

Well just some thoughts on books, I'm not sure what kind of books you're supposed to get? BUT Mitch Albloom is a wonderful author, he's actually a sports writer but has wrote some books with high aclaims...

Tuesdays with Morrie, For one more Day, and The five people you meet in heaven. They are very thought provoking and written very well so it definatly keeps your attention... also they're not crazy long so it doesn't take forever to get through them.... check it out see if it interests you.

I just read "If life is a game these are the rules" and its awesome - goes well with the ideas presented in tools.

Dan Brown is wonderful if ur more suspence/fiction type - HOWEVER all the places, locations and ideas presented in his books are very well researched and acurate.

The davinci code, angels and deamons. and the newest one(i havent got to but heard great things) oh shoot the name just slipped my mind... crap! check the new best sellers its for sure in there.

Finally a book I've personally read like 3 times, and think everyone should check it out is The celestine prophecy. Its a wicked story.

Good luck! hope you enjoy whatever it is u pick out.... lol watch out for the book store I always end up spending WAY to mich in there lol

Another author

Good for you in getting it, keep up the great work!  Day 21, awesome!  A author I love is Terry Goodkind.  About wizards and mythical stuff.  I resisted reading them for years (my wife loves them) but when I did I could not put them down.  It is a series called "The sword of truth".  Take care, Brian.

HAHAHA!

Yes, eat regularly so you have the energy to get through my blogs! Good thinking LMAO! ;-p

One thought on eating... I used to have a serious problem with low blood sugar and I would get horribly moody and eventually pig out on stuff that was bad for me. So years ago I learned that I had to eat regularly in order to control this. I keep snacks in my desk, in my car and sometimes in my purse so that I can feed myself healthy foods every few hours (I need to snack between meals.) Things like protein bars (I really like the natural Odwalla bars), nuts and dried fruit, or granola bars keep for a long time and work great!

One of my favorite authors is Dean Koontz. His writing is mainly "horror" I guess, but he has great characters that are battling the evil in his stories. I guess they are often kind of science fiction in nature as well. Two of my favorites are "Watchers" (I've read it at least 4 times) and "Midnight" that I believe I have read twice.

ROCK ON Captain!!!

reading

oh man i have the opposite problem from you, all i read is fun stuff. lol. I wish i was more socially responsible and read stuff about politics and history.

anyways, I really enjoy Timothy Findly (i think that's spelt right), his style is dramatic and deals with issues that can a little controversial. good ones by him are 'not wanted on the voyage' 'the wars'

also anything in the Dexter series is good. I don't know who wrote it, but 'a brave new world' is super good also.

I read a lot but my choices are always lame girl stuff. those are the best boy friendly ones i could think of.

enjoy! good job on three weeks!!
