where am I going?

What do I want in 3 months time?

1. To live porn free

2. Begun to sort the sources of porn, booze, depression and anger through therapy

3. 12 stone in weight

4. Write a chapter on "deconstructing whiteness" for my PhD

5. Progress on my reading projects a. feminism, b. ethics, c. sex industry

6. fitter and healthier through regular exercise

7. stable and growing social network

8. clarity as to goals for church work

9. painted a Persian army for 10mm warmaster games

10. developed "general de brigade" game playing

11. get in the habit of taking responsibility not just for actions but also reactions to the crap that comes my way

12. and the great imponderable.... better relationship with my (ex-?)wife

I remember reading in a Patrick Carnes book (can't recall which one) something to the effect that addicts are often good people with well integrated sets of ethical values. Their integrity being subverted only in the dimension of their addiction. I need to remind myself of this. I'm not a bad person!

I am coming more to terms with the tentative recollections of being abused as a child. This might help with the desired outcome I noted above.

GOD BLESS YOU!

Good for you

Cedric,

You are making progress, the first step is to write out your goals, then put a game plan in motion to help you achieve them.

Just take it one day at a time and remember small steps turn into big leaps, before you know it you will have reached all your goals and then you will be an expert so you can set and achieve more goals.

Have Fun

Cedric in three months

I like so much how balanced this goal list is. Social, intellectual, emotional, some play time with hobbies and spiritual growth and involvement. Hmm...I skipped physical. Did you? Do you have physical outlets like sports, walks, biking, swimming, Sierra Club, bird watching... or the like?

Seems like a pretty demanding list. Like mine! Might consider giving yourself more time for some of these things.

You're also ready it sounds to really turn over the rocks and look at the source of behavior/escapes. Wow. I think that's an exciting journey. Exciting I mean because the fruits can be astounding. Set you free.

Good to hear how it goes with Cedric!!

Where Cedric is going!

Cedric,

What a great list! 12 worthwhile, and doable things. Don't discount #12. You can always improve your relationship with her; even if she never improves her relationship with you. It's all about attitude, and your attitude is your decision! Way to go Cedric! Remember the law of accumulation!!! A little bit done, day by day; will eventually go a long, long way.

Your Friend,

Jay
