metabolism coming back

I posted a blog somewhere around February 19th.  I stated that I needed to try something new to ramp up my metabolism as I'm pretty sure it was kind of squashed from calorie restriction.

I have done it consistently since...eating every 2 - 4 hours...varying my foods...varying caloric levels day over day.

What a change.  I feel proud of the fact that I'm eating so much more healthily.  I am tickled about my fancy for variety (I am a creature of habit and have felt no need to "experiment" with foods).  This is a new thing for me.  I love it.

I've been eating fish - never liked it before...now I do.  I've been eating grapefruit - never liked it before...now I do.  Of course there is my new found passion for oatmeal.

I've stopped my consumption of half and half.  Unbelievable.

caloriecount.about.com  this has been a great help for me.  It has opened my eyes to all the choices I can make to eat without blowing up my caloric intake and controlling my carb intake.

I'm so happy with myself.  For the longest time, months and months and months...I have been sitting at 130 - 136 lbs each morning.  I was eating 1000 calories or less a day for over 5 months.  At the beginning of the 5 months, I was 133 lbs on my first day of weighing.  I weighed somewhere between 130 and 136 for that entire 5 month period even though I was exercising very, very regularly and was eating 1000 calories or less a day.

Today - March 10, I am squarely in my 120s.  My range lately is 124 - 128.  This morning I was 126.  I have eaten about the same number of calories on average - about 1000 a day, but I'm eating every 2 - 4 hours and I've added a significant amount of variety to my diet.  I eliminated half and half.  I also try to vary, day over day the number of calories I eat.  800 one day, 1200 the next.  Not that exact, but trending in that direction.

I don't know how long it will last, but I'm hoping to get my range to be 119 - 124.  Once I reach and maintain that for a while, then I'm going to slowly start increasing calories trying to find a maintenance number.  Ideally, that would be an average of 2000 calories a day.  It's been so long since I've allowed myself to eat that many calories a day...I'll be beside myself.  I think it will be possible though.  I can reach my goals, maintain my goals and eat more regularly in order to maintain.  I'm quite confident of this after just 3 weeks or so trying this.

Good job ang.
