Regrouping

I almost beat myself up today because I felt like I fell off the wagon.  I remembered that it is my responsibility to choose my response so I didn't beat myself up afterall.  I decided to look at this as an opportunity to regroup and figure out if my current plan for weight loss is really what I need to do or if there is another way to go about it.

I decided that the best way for me is to remember that the key to losing weight is not in dieting but in taking in less calories and moving more.  So, I don't need to change my course.  I don't need to worry about eating a bit too much today.  All I need to do is to regroup, forgive myself and then compensate for the extra calories by moving a bit more.  So I went for a brisk power-walk this evening, once it cooled off a bit here in Chicago.  We are, afterall, experiencing record heat and I didn't want to overexert myself which would have been counterproductive.  Besides, I live right on the lake and it is really sad just how much I have let this beautiful scenery simply go to waste over the last 18 years I have been living here.

New commitment: Move more and eat less but don't starve myself.  Stay hydrated.  Take advantage of the beautiful lake front and forgive myself when things don't go quite according to plan.  I have the ability to regroup and choose my response.

Happy Living!

IN TUNE.... HOORAY!

Calories in, calories out.  Water on top.  Power walk, lake on hand.  Awesome.  Ain't life kind?  Good frame of mind, go for it.  To add, clap, splash, brush, smile... I do.  Have a great regrouping day!
