Over Committing

For years at work I was over committing myself. I would put pressure on myself to be "The man". I would say yes to anything, a project brought to me a 4:30pm, that would take 4 hours or more and requested to be finished at 9am tomarrow, sure I can do that. I was making good money but really didn't have a life and was not happy. Today I find myself only doing what I can, when I can, I'm much happier and so is my family. I know I have a lot to learn and a long way to go to find that ballance between my career and personal life but I know I'm moving forward in that direction.

ME too...

I have struggled with this for the past several years.

I work at least 50 hours a week. I also have other activities outside of work that keep me very busy as well.  I found it hard to say no and to find a balance in my life. It takes time but you will find your priorities and what is really important to you.

yes me also

If you find the secret... please pass it on!!!  Whem i find myself spinning my wheels... I tell myself.... NO NEW PROJECTS!!! Every once in a while... I have to stop myself.

One thing I did was make regular time at a place I like--- for me.  I usually go every weekend, however I almost over did that as well.  Now I try to spend a weekend at home once every other month and the rest of the weekends at the cabin.  Its balancing out good now.... now  at least I have a weekend life!!!!  And i love it!!!!
