Bike riding...

What's up with the bike riding? Well, I'll tell you. I was riding my bike like a nut and a screw came up out of my foot. I had to have minor surgery to remove it and I got the stiches out this Monday morning. It did not stop me from riding. We have had a series of storms passing through our area and it has been raining on and off for days, that did not stop me from riding my bike. Do you want to know what finally did stop me? It was the "itch mites". Have you heard of them? We are infested with them, our whole community is being attacked by these little monsters. I have three bites on my arm and I have had them for a week. They hurt, they itch, and they are very red and inflamed. I went the doctor and he gave me an RX for a lotion to put on them but sometimes it feels like they itch more after I put it on. Actually, I have a 4 inch area on my arm that is pretty red and irritated. I guess these mites are eating all the dead cicadas and then blowing off the trees onto us! There are millions of them, especially on the bike path. Our community is called the "Tree Suburb" because we have hundreds and hundreds of beautiful old trees. So, no bike riding, at least not until these bites go away. I was in Einstein's this morning and 4 of us were comparing our bites, we were all bitten in the crook of our elbow. Isn't that weird? It must be the part the mites think of as "sirloin". I just saw a woman in the elevator and she was bitten on her neck. She had an allergic reaction and is in bad shape. It's hot here but everyone is walking around in long pants and sleeves drenched in bug spray.

Aw...poor you!

Do you have a stationary bike?  I use mine and it is air conditioned and there are no bugs in the house.  I sound like I am unsympathetic and I am not.  I know how much biking means to you out in nature and am so sorry you have had to take a break until the little monsters go away.  Anyway, figure out something absolutely wonderful to do instead for the time being so that you will continue to have great joy in your life.  You deserve that.

Itching OUCH

I've had itchy rashes and there is nothing worse. I hope you feel a lot better.

Today you turned up as being on the same day as me when I logged in this morning, so I just had to contact you and say HI, How are you doing?

Feel better! That is an order!!

I hear you I hear you
