Hi All!

I don't want to sound desperate, but here's my situation. I'm a contract software developer and have been cut loose. I've got around $8000.00 which should last a few months (maybe a little more with some cut backs) for my family and I.

Any ideas and inspiration on what options are available? I know it sound BIG question, but I'm starting to get a little concerned.

I have tried looking for more work, but companies are on freeze at the moment.

Thanx

I love these types of questions because I am a master at making money come from the sky.

Well first explore unemployment and see if that is an option.

Secondly I would get creative like depending upon were you live sell water at the park... it can be fun take your kids. Or post on Craigslist for a talent you may have like crochet or interior design or ofer to dogwalk or something easy.

You can get a part time gig at West at home of Live ops and work from home. Or do some indy work in your field.

You can do all this on the side while you look for work.  It might not be much money but it will keep you mentally feeling better by adding to your $8000 as supposed to taking away.

A lot of people feel like they have to work a 9-5 with a set salary but really money is money.  Don't limit yourself.

Oh last but not least cut coupons.... look for sales and double coupon days at the different grocery stores in your area.  One of mine doubles coupons up to $1. That is $2 off an item imagine you could pay like 19 cents for a loaf of bread like its 1937 again or something..... it is so worth the 2 min to cut and organize the coupons.

Good luck and have fun!
