Five years ago I split up with my husband, got my kids in day care and went back to work. Being a stay-at-home-mom was wonderful in some ways, but terrible for my self esteem. I happened into a job as a legal secretary  and ultimately decided that I really liked the field, but I wanted to do MORE! So, I went to law school. My thoughts were: I need a job that I can actually support myself and my family with, I need a job where I can use my intellect and be stimulated, I need a job where I can feel like what I am doing is worthwhile.

I guess I came to believe that once I got done with school and started working, the rest of my life was going to magically be perfect! Here I am 9 months post graduation, 6 months post bar exam, and 3+ months into my new job, and I'm not feeling all that satisfied! I'm still too heavy! I still struggle with personal relationships! I'm already starting to feel like a drone, and I don't like it.

I didn't feel any big push to make changes in January, but for some reason, February feels like New Year's to me. My goals are to take better care of my health and get my weight under control, create a business plan to open my own business, whether that's a law firm or some other related business, and get some of the dead wood out of my life.

Long term, I'd like to build an eco-friendly house and create a community of forward thinking, environmentally minded, self-aware friends and colleagues.

I just read David Allen's book called Getting Things Done, and have been checking out all the online resources about it. I am really fascinated by it and think it would help me a lot, and it seems compatible with the work of Tools. I am having some trouble conceptualizing the actual implementation and was wondering if anyone else is using the system and has any helpful suggestions. Thanks!

says: I have not read the book but what i can say is that you can only to put what you read into action and all will happen, i believe so! I read the "the power of focus" by Jack canfield, markvictor Hansen and Les hewitt. They visualize what you need to do and put the into action.Remember Vision with action can change the world. You are doing great Diana!
