working nights

Hi all,

I am just about to start my first lot of night shifts. I am a nurse and am wondering if any of you have any tips for how to stay awake when my body clock will be telling me to sleep.

Hi there,

I don't work night shift but am a terrible night owl who has a very hard time getting up early.

To that end I just bought a sleeptracker watch which monitors which part of the sleeping cycle you're in and wakes you up when you are the closest to being awake rather than interrupting your deep or dream sleep. You just give it a range of 20-30 min and it will beep at the best time.

I have read mixed reviews online before buying it (mostly positive though), but for me it works like a charm. It is something to consider if you find you really struggle with the sleeping pattern change.

When it wakes you up you don't wake up groggy and take a long time to function normally, your body is naturally primed to be awake better.

Cheers,

Tatiana K.
