Coach...Great Tool!

DrDebbie-1183913360974369

Making goals and making "To Do" lists have not been my strongest way of being in the past, but as I notice more and more results I get really excited.

I especially like how Coach incorporated an actual virtual space to track in this program where we can print out the list...BRILLIANT to say the least.

So where has making goals/To Do lists made a difference for me...

My first experience with goals that I could actually measure was after I read a book called "Your Heart's Desires"

The book has multiple spaces to fill in exactly that...your fondest dreams and what you want in life.

I even put together a group of people to go through the book with me...the synergy of groups always amplifies the experience.

3 years later I was glancing back through that book and read through my list.  Everything had happened except 2 things.

And of those 2 things, they had also been completed, but in a totally different way than I expected.

I just sat there in awe...I have been exercising my goals ever since...I even created a book of goals that I dedicate to my life.

Do not hesitate to create your life within this all important tool.

Wishing you all dreams to come true...and that you take an active daily role in KNOWING that you can guide the entire course of that journey.

Future Diary

Back when I was an Insurance Agent I went to a motivational talk by someone who described a Future Diary. Each thing I wanted (a goal I guess) was to be put on a different page. It was to be as specific as I could make it, and in the present tense.

Yea, I know that is what all the goal setting books tell you to do, but it was the only time I actually did it. How he described it just hit me at the right time and in the right way.

Every single thing I put into that book came true. I manifested the car I wanted, in the color I wanted, and it was registered in my name. It wasn't the family car. It wasn't the car my husband wanted. It was mine. We got insurance. We paid our bills off. We put money into savings. Etc., Etc., Etc.

I did not manifest the quirky house, but I'm not at all sure I really wanted it because I did see it the next time we went house shopping. My husband hated it and I let it go.

You're not alone You're not alone

One of the reasons I'm not doing well with goal setting right now is that I don't know what I want, other than to be happy and as healthy as possible, and I don't think I want anything all that much.

Starling

I do not want what I have not got

There's a Sinead O'Connor song from way back and if I remember it goes something like this:

First, Sinead recited the Serenity Prayer, then...

I was walking through the desert

and I was not frightened although it's hot

I have all that I requested

and I do not want what I have not got.

I played it over and over and over again one summer and it had a profound effect.  At first I thought the main character in the song (Sinead?) was a total slacker without ambition.  Then I realized that her song was one of total gratitude and acceptance.  I realized that we get what we ask for, good and bad, and that letting go of expectations was good for the soul.  This doesn't mean we needn't have goals, only that we not be driven so by these goals that we forget to stop and smell the flowers, be grateful for what we already have.

Being healthy and happy sound like wonderully global and inclusive goals.  What more do we really need.
