A I wrote in a past blog, I brought my motorcycle into my house over a month ago to do a bunch of work on it. Now I have completed everything, and wheeled it out last night.
This morning I bundled up in all my winter gear and rode into work. My iphone said it was 37 degrees but it felt much colder. Also, to my surprise, the grip heaters I installed didn't seem to be working. My hands were cold, and going numb. By the time I made it to work, my fingertips were stinging. I think electric heated gloves are in my future. No way am I going to keep riding like this all winter long without them.
The whole reason I rode in today is because this afternoon it is supposed to be 50 degrees. That is the unfortunate conundrum of living in Denver: awesome warm and sunny afternoons, but bone-chilling cold at dawn. Even riding at 10:00 at night is nowhere near as cold as 6:00 in the morning. I can't wait to enjoy my nice ride home, but don't think I can handle the cold mornings unless I do something different.
