I am 28 years old and live in Denver, Colorado.  I have a wonderful girlfriend that I want to settle down with.  I work in the construction management industry, but have since left the field management and now have a more 'paper-pushing' job.  I enjoy outdoor life, especially snowboarding, mountaineering, mountain biking, hiking, and hunting.  I also like to follow local and national politics, Major League Baseball, and professional and college football.  Lastly, I do listen to the Jason Ellis Show and like many other members, that is how I got to this website!

all questions»

I have made a routine of logging into tools at work each morning.  Therefore, I did not log in during the weekend.  I was definitely still applying the lessons learned through the week, and picked up where I left off this morning.

What do you think?  Is it okay to just do the tools Monday thru Friday, or should I make an effort to keep progressing every day, regardless of my location on the weekends?

Most popular answers

says: of course, it's okay to take a break in between. even the way tools has been designed with chapters designed to help you catch your breath with no exs or train the brain sections. or if you want you could do it in such a way the no exercise chps coincide with your time offs. It's really up to you!!

What is your answer?

I joined TOOLS because:
Jason Ellis told me to. Haha! Seriously, I have led a good life but haven't taken it very seriously. I feel like I have the potential to be more physically and mentally fit, more financially responsible, advance in my career, and become a family man. I just need to apply myself.
You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:
I have a few. One is to be an extreme mountain guide: either climbing the highest peaks, or guiding heli-ski operations, or big game hunts in the Rocky Mountain U.S. or Canada. Another is to be in public policy, politics, and planning for a city or state, or running for political office. Journalism and creative writing also appeal to me; I would like to write for a newspaper or possibly even write a novel. Lastly, I always joke that the best job would be 'the guy who answers the phone in the bullpen' for the Rockies, but I will save that one for after I retire very rich!
My favorite wild animal is:
I am fascinated with the Rocky Mountain Elk
Why (describe as much as possible):
The mythology of the elk and its relation to Colorado is second to none. We have a very unique Elk population in this state that acount for many tourists coming here from out of state for this reason. I enjoy all the aspects of big game hunting in the fall months: tracking, listening, smelling, and waiting for game; but I really love to 'hunt' with a camera in the summer time, when the Elk are herded way up near treeline and it is truly an adventure to get to them.
My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):
 Cats
Why:
I do like dogs but I feel like they can be a burden on a human. I would like to have an Alaskan Husky or a Bulldog. However I do not want a dog at this time. I like cats more because they can give you good company while relaxing at home, and you don't have to worry about them if you go out for a few days on a trip.
A famous Chef will prepare anything you want. What do you order:
It may sound cliche but a good steak.
Why:
I'm a carnivore at heart. I've always been raised on a high protein diet. I know the health repurcussions of eating red meat and appreciate a balanced diet with plenty of vegetables, but nothing beats a good steak, especially if it is wild game, which is free of chemicals, hormones, additives, and most importantly: a life of incarceration.
Five people either dead or alive you would have at your fantasy dinner party::
Thomas Jefferson, Brutus, 'Dimebag' Darrell, John Colter, George S. Halas
Why:
I enjoy reading about Jefferson and his theories about how he saw this great country to be. In modern day politics, I always seem to ask myself what Jefferson would think of these decisions and the direction his country is taking. Brutus would be interesting to ask him what it was like when he saw the Republic on the verge of collapse, when the utopian society gave way to a dictatorship and the promise of democracy was lost, leaving him to turn against one of his best friends and kill him for the supposed good of the country. 'Dimebag' would be a blast to hang out with. He was a very classy and upstanding man and loyal to all of his friends. I feel that he would be a very down-to-earth person to talk to about my ideas and emotions, to listen to and recieve sound advice from (as well as guitar lessons). Colter was roughly the same age as myself when he became part of the Lewis and Clark expedition in 1804. I would like to hear from him the stories of how the men accomplished such an amazing feat of going into pure wilderness for two years, working together as a team, and survival. He was the only soldier granted an honorable discharge on the last leg of the mission in order to stay in the mountains and continue his exploration alone. That was truly a fearless feat and I would like to learn confidence from him. Halas was the founder of the Chicago Bears and the most influential man in starting up the NFL. He was an accomplished businessman with working-class roots. I would like to hear from him what motivated him to take such financial risks, and manage an organization from a small home office to a large franchise success.
If a pilot would fly you anywhere you want, you would go to:
Haines, AK to snowboard the highest peaks.
My perfect slice of pizza is:
Either pepperoni or sausage (not both) along with mushrooms, topped with hot giardenera peppers.
You are at a bar. You order this drink:
Whisky on the rocks. I usually stick to Bourbon, alternating between Jack Daniels, Maker's Mark, or Wild Turkey. I feel very 'refined' when sipping bourbon, and I drink it so slowly that I am finishing up my first glass when others are already on their third glass of beer or wine. I also like a good IPA at a microbrewery.
You are at a coffee shop. What coffee or tea do you order:
Caffiene is my 'drug of choice'. I drink black coffee daily, in small amounts sipped from a thermos. Once or twice a week, I will order a latte or cappucino, but only with espresso and milk, no flavoring.
If a genie could grant you three wishes they would be (separate by commas):
Provide he also grants me the skills necessary to do these things, I would: Play a 'gig' with Metallica, ride in the Tour de France, and star in a major big mountain snowboarding film.
You are going on a long road trip and you can only bring three CD's. Which ones do you bring (separate by commas):
Impossible! Music is everything to me, but if I must: Sublime - self titled, Pink Floyd - 'Dark Side of the Moon', Judas Priest - 'The Sad Wings of Destiny'
If I could do anything for my neighborhood today, it would be:
Hold a party for people to meet each other. I feel that high-density city living is perfect for meeting your neighbors, but we have actually lost that ability as we retreat into our homes each evening and don't come out to meet others.
A sunset I remember:
Snow camping halfway up the climb of Mt. Rainier. The sun receded over the ridge above our heads, bathing the glaciers and seracs with a warm orange glow before wrapping us in total darkness.
Any character I could be from a movie, TV show or book would be:
 Luke Skywalker.
Why:
He goes through every emotion and state of mind possible while growing from a teenage boy into a responsible man who saved the galaxy. He could have easily just said 'no' to everything and lived out a life of a farmer, but his courage and fearlessness lead him to much greater things.
