My life is not that bad.  I'm 25 years old, don't work, and am finishing up my undergrad.  I am self-isolating, sometimes by choice and other times because I have no confidence in my social abilities.  Certain occasions have proved me wrong, that in fact I do have social skills, but I continue to believe this lie that I tell myself.  I failed out of

I was an average, middle-class white kid.  I played a lot of videogames, liked to bike around a lot.  I was pretty outgoing until middle school, when I was confronted with change.  I decided not to really face it by clinging to old friends and activities.  My videogame playing increased A LOT, either at home by myself or at friends' houses.  I revered my older brother.  I hit high school and continued to play videogames and cling to old things, although I made some friends on the soccer team.  Sophomore year, one of these friends encouraged me to do Amigos, a summer trip to Latin America where students work on public health projects.  I committed to it, half-heartedly going to training every Monday night.  Then June hit, and I realized I was going to Paraguay.  I got down there, realized I hadn't really socialized with people in years, and had a panic attack.  It was surreal and very embarrassing, and I ended up coming back to the states.

Who knows.  It's day-to-day now.
