One thing is what is your Modality, an NLP term used to show how you learn new information.

Do you "See", "Feel","Touch","Think","Hear" new ideas?

Each person is different, and my not see things as you do but they feel them in many ways. Some people listen to cassettes to get the words said, others have to see a video demonstation of it. Some can just imagine and visualize it... and others you have to show them live in person... We all have different way of perseaving the same things.

Say you draw a square on a chalk board some see it as a box, some as two parrallel lines attached at both sides, others can imagine a house, and some just don't get it.

says: Personally, I speak out loud. There are times when I do internalize my self dialogue... but if I am at home (with or without my family present) I will speak out loud. It felt very silly talking to myself at first... but now it feels more natural. I hope this helps!
