I know you said that books aren't easy for you when it comes to learning, but I recently read the Art of Happiness, and in it the Dalai Lama has some great meditations that illustrate the process pretty clearly. I highly recommend the book as a place to start!
Other than that, you can always seek out local experts on the subject (depending on what type of meditation you are interested will determine where you look.) or you can check out a book on the subject.
Most people make too big a deal out of the process of meditation, when all that is relevant is what goes on in your mind, and any decent meditation book will tell you what that should be!
Hope it helps!
