Running for a week

Well I started running a week ago, I was surprised at how good of shape I was in already.  I ran a mile or two the first day, then a few days later I ran for 30 minutes straight (3 miles), which I've never done before.  It felt good afterwords.  I've run twice since then too, one of which was another 30 minutes.  I think if I can actually keep up running every other day or so, I will be able to run my 10k at the end of May.  I just need to keep at it.  The problem is, I feel like crap until around 20-30 minutes after my run, and I feel like I'm not getting any better at all.  I know I've only been going for a week, but I'm impatient and need instant gratification, and I know I wont see results for at least about a month.  Since I ran 30 minutes yesterday, I think today I'll do like sprints or something.

The other thing I've been trying to become disiplined on is not eating for the last 2 hours before bed.  Its way harder than I thought it would be because I always snack.
