This is a very touching story I heard from my friend today. Its deep love & great wisdom are a healing gifr for me and hope it is for you, too.
Mom: Do you know who love you most in the whole world?
4-yr old Kid: You!
Mom (smiling): Yes, I love you, but it's even more important that You love yourself.
Kid: But sometimes I do, and at other times I don't. I still prefer you.
Mom (curious): Really? When do you love yourself and when not?
Kid (leaning the head): Let me think how to describe it clearly... Well, it happens when others say to me, " you're wrong."
Mom: At that moment, what do you dislike? the bad feeling about being judged? Or yourself?
Kid: Oh~I know. I just don't like the bad feeling.
Mom: Right. And if you know loving yourself is crucial, at that moment, you know what to do?
Then the Kid was taught to put hands on the chest, close eyes, and say:
Though I don't like the feeling, I still love myself very much.
And because of that, I'm confident and willing to change myself!
Kid: Hey~ I've learned it and I'm doing well!
Mom: ^_^. They hug each other with big laughters.
