Glenn is my 'legal' or birth given name, but when I took initiation from my spiritual master in 1976, he gave me the name Gaura Dasa, which means servant of Gaura, or Lord Caitanya, the combined incarnation of Radha and Krishna. All my friends call me Gaura, but I gave Glenn because I thought it might be easier for mostly western based persons.A friend ,Padmapani asked me to post something about me at this link ... http://prabhupadaconnect.com/Remembering25.html http://prabhupadaconnect.com/CauselessMercy2.html There are three parts to this last link. After 10 years of being a strict celibate monk, I thought it would be more honest to marry, but after one son and only 4 yrs of that marriage, my wife divorced me, and it sent me into a state of disorientation. I felt rejected, a failure, the second big shock in my life....I tried to be a single part time parent, but it was too emotionally upsetting and depressing for me to continue on in that situation, just seeing my little son once every two weeks for a couple of days, while he would cry for his mother. I could not handle it. I went back to traveling with monks for four years, and opened my own cultural center in beautiful Clearwater Beach in Florida, receiving 40 guests every week. I left things in the hands of others, as I made my way back to Canada to get the visa and passport to go on pilgrimage to India, but before I knew it , I found myself accepting an administrative position in managing a parish, and many members to care for .  I soon married a psychologist who had some background in yoga and meditation. The writing on the wall was that we were already arguing a lot even before the marriage. This created a lot of tension and lack of trust between us .That marriage lasted 7 years, and we had a son named Mahaprabhu, after Lord Caitanya. I expressed to my wife that there was no greater fortune for a boy than to grow up what to speak of get eduacated in Vrndavana, and that since she used to work as a psychologist in the Montreal school system, they would probably accpet her as a teacher, and they did, except she did everything independently of me, and threatened me with lawyers if I did not sign custody over to her. That wrecked the relationship for me, as I dont appreciate being manipulated. I had not seen him in 5 years due to the mother going over seas to teach and taking the boy with her. It was actually my desire for her to do this, but the plan was to do it together, but she threatened me with lawyers if she could not do it immeidately as I wanted to work and raise a little money so we could all go togehter as one unit, and also work on the relationship more, but she had her own plans. I just spent 8 months in India, half of that time taking course in Teachers Training and what is called the Bhakti sastri Course. I struggle with lonliness and Net addiction. My dream is to save up enough money to purchase a small cabin one day, as I am always storing my many cases of books in various friends homes until they move or it is not convenient for them. For the past 6 yrs Ive been on the road, though for a few months here and there, I have taken up some volunteer service in a parish, or shared a house with others, though I found it incompatlible, as I dont eat meat drink smoke and I found being surounded by those habits intolerable. Id rather sleep in my van on the street, and bathe in restaurnsts with face cloths or jump in a cold lake that to smell dead animals cooking or the cancerous stench of smoke. I dont feel I am living up to my potential. I have been given a LOT of gifts by my spiritual master, and his students, but I feel I am squandering them. I find it difficult to accept other peoples authority unless it is a two way street and I can also offer them suggestions, but I find it is almost impossible to find authorities who are humble enough to take feedback and constructive criticism on how to improve things, In my travels, I donate  the Bhagavad Gita As It Is to Public Libraries for the benefit of others. How do I want to end ? I want to end with a pure humble heart full of love for God and His creation. I want to create a retreat where people can come to be healed phsyically, mentally and spiritually. Where they can see that there is a sane alternative to living, in a peaceful, ecological, and self sufficient way,  with pure water, air and solar or wind powered energy, off the grid, instead of getting sucked into  the madness created by the rogues and thieves that have disguised themselves as todays Politicians.

all questions»

How do I post my Achievements in terms of Milestones and Breakthroughs, and also, whats the difference between the two ? I went to my page on those, and there was no way to post anything.

Also, in terms of my Checklist, I cant understand why I shoud in Number 1 reuse my coffee cup and bring it to work. First, I dont drink that garbage called coffee, secondly, I use the same cup all the time, thridly, i LIve in my van, and work from it so my cup is always with me. WHat was thr purpose iof this instruction ? Was it to save cups and be more ecological ? Im already like that.

Secondly, I have no shade or light in my van, I do hand a shawl over one window though to keep out some of the light when I sleep under street lights at night. At which Day did those things come in ? I never noticed.

says: Both are action based. A milestone is an achievement based on a goal. Example: Your goal is to eat healthy, a milestone can be that you were able to eat healthy in one week straight. The example they gave was with Tools. Finishing one week of tools is a milestone. Lets say you want to learn how to cook. Learning one dish can be a milestone. A breakthrough is an achievement based on surpassing an obstacle, or something that's holding you back from doing a goal, or something holding you back from being better in life, thus the term "break-through".. its like breaking through a wall. Example: You want to study fine arts, but your parents tell you to take up law or medicine and you feel bad about it. Instead of keeping your head down pursuing something you didnt like - and that this is your usual reaction when things like this happens, you get the courage to talk with your parents and responsibly explain why you want to take up that course instead of what they want. Me for example, when I feel something uncomfortable with my body, I don't go to the doctor because of fear that they may find something wrong with me. That's an obstacle. Clearly finding out can help prevent any sickness or treat a sickness at an early age, but the fear thats stopping me is preventing me from being better. If one day I choose to go to the doctor, then that's a breakthrough. I hope that helped ;D

What is your answer?

I joined TOOLS because:
I feel I have been in a rut for too long. I have waaaaay more potential than I am using right now. I want more self-discipline, getting to bed earlier, rising earlier, getting my meditation and reading and exercising fittedinto the morning before I begin the day. I want to be much more regulated, with a REAL feeling of accomplishment when I go to sleep at night. I want to save up to buy a cabin or small house. I want to make a greater contribution to my community and other peoples lives. I want to create an occupation that is in line with my interests. These are just a few..... 1. Giving seminars on spiritual growth 2. Performing yoga music and recording CDs 3. Providing delicious sattvic vegetarian prasadam, and giving cooking classes
You are offered your dream job. What job is it?:
Thats a tough one. I will have to be more general. My main interest is in self-realization, which could also be called personal growth or self-help, with the emphasis on the spiritual intellectual and emotional aspects. I love music , so Im looking for other musicians to make a yoga band, an east west fusion, to take people to another realm, the realm of vaikuntha, the place of no anxiety, the SPiritual Sky. Im looking for a flute player, a cellist or violist or violinist, a frettless bass player a semi acoustic guitarist, tabla or mrdanga percussionist,,,World Music Transcendental ! I would like to create my own Cds as tools to help people. My job would take me to India for at least three months out of each year, because I get so much spiritual nourishment going there.
My favorite wild animal is:
 The Lion
Why (describe as much as possible):
The Lion is the king of beasts, and he is my astrological sign. I am a Leo, by the Vedic sidereal jyotish system of astrology which is at least 23 degrees more accurate than the western system.
My favorite domestic animal is (if you choose dog be specific with breed etc):
 The cow
Why:
The cow is one of seven mothers, according to the Vedic literatures. The cow and its related species the bull are like our mother and father. Just as ourmother nourished us with her breast milk which is so important for our immmunity and growth, similarly , our 'mother ' the cow noursihes us with her blood, transformed into milk. The finer tissues ofthe brain are developed through milk, A cow bull and an acre of land, and you dont have to be a part of this madness of oer crowded cities where there is no accountability, over 100 youth murders in London alone this year, all the pollution , fear, stress, this is not civiliazation !!! A cow enables one to live an ecologically self sufficient lifestyle which is off the grid , and away from the spider web set up by the exploiters, rogues and thieves. who masquerade as well meaning politicians. The bull is like our father because he can be harnessed as a plough and be used to till the soil to produce grains, beans and vegetables. When you combine dairy products with grains beans and vegetables, you no longer have to engage in the barbaric , sub-human acitivity of cow slaughter. Cow slaughter is atthe base of the wars that are going on in this world. If we kill our mothers, then what goes around comes around, wars are the cummulative karma of killing millions of animals. They are not animals, they are souls, and have the right to life, just as much as any other living entity.
A famous Chef will prepare anything you want. What do you order:
A ginger tea with honey a half hour before the meal because it enhances the digestion. Sliced Chinese bitter melon sauteed with coconut and crushed almonds atthe beginning of the meal becasue bitter enhances the appetite. Liquids should be taken first for better digestion, so a nice mung bean dhal which also acts as a detoxifier to the system. The main course would be chick pea flour pancakes blended with sweet red peppers, a recipe from Yamunas Table, with steamed asparagus rolled in side them anda sesame sauce poured over them, and baked. Cabbage rolls with buckwheat and wildrice filling with a tomato sayce baked in the oven. Vege pate made from soaked sunflower and pumpkin seeds also baked. Creamed spinach with yogurt. ( Panir Palak ) A little mango saffron ice cream for dessert.
Why:
the reasons aregiven in the menu I desicribed above. Itsnot only satisfying all six tastes which need to be satisfied to avoid cravings, but it is also extremely nourishing and healingfood, nothing deep fried or full of heart clogging fat.
Five people either dead or alive you would have at your fantasy dinner party::
Srila Prabhupada, Lord Caitanya , Lord Nityanada, Srimati Radharani and Lord Krishna see www.krishna.com
Why:
Srila Prabhupada is the ultimate servant of God. I never met anyone in this life as pure and loving and full ofcompassion as him. Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityananda are giving the process of self realization to liberate everyone from their suffering in the world, and they are full of bliss and ecstasy. My spiritual or initiated name is Gaura Dasa, given to me 34 yearrs ago by Srila Prabhupada, . Gaura is another name for Lord Caitanya, and dasa means servant, so I am the servant of Lord Caitanya, and I would like to have the honor and privilege to serve Him persoanlly at my fantasy dinner party. Lord Caitanya is the combined avatar or incarnation of both Radha and Krishna. Radha and Krishna together comprise the Supreme Absolute Truth. Krishna is God, and Radharani ist he Supreme Goddess. They are the summum bonuem, the ultimate goal of life. I am eternally Their servant, so I would be in unbelievable hair standing ecstasy to be in Their presence and it would be the perfection on my life to serve them Their meal, made from Their ingredints that They have created.
If a pilot would fly you anywhere you want, you would go to:
I would want to go to wherever Srila Prabhupada is right now. If he is in Vaikuntha, the SPiritual Sky, or the topmost planet there, Goloka Vrndavana, I would want to go there, because I miss him very much, and I am happiest when I am with him.
My perfect slice of pizza is:
Thin whole wheat flour crust, made from orgaic kamut flower wheat or a combination of spelt flour. The tomato sayce has fresh basil oregano and morjoram in it, with also sun dried tomatos . Asafoetida to replace onions and garlic, and also balck peeper is there, a bit of molasses, a hint of apple cider vinegar. The toppings would be black olives, artichokes and asparagus with pine nuts spinkled over top some organic mozarella cheese.
You are at a bar. You order this drink:
A smoothie made up of apple juice with goji berry, camu camu, papaya, mangosteen and noni juices with a shot of aloe vera and spirulina and chlorella
You are at a coffee shop. What coffee or tea do you order:
Chamomile as it is very soothing to the nerves
If a genie could grant you three wishes they would be (separate by commas):
I would become a pure devotee with no material desires. Everyone in the world would become liberated from the cycle of birth and death and be sinless, and go back home, back to Godhead. All the leaders of the world would become saints andorganize massive festivals of spiritual chanting and prasadam feasting in all the major arenas of the world.
You are going on a long road trip and you can only bring three CD's. Which ones do you bring (separate by commas):
Krishna Meditations, The Happening Album, Prabhupada Japa
If I could do anything for my neighborhood today, it would be:
To stop all the senseless tree cutting and to implement mandatory recyleable housing to everyone in need, and to visit everyone with books on Krsna consciousness for whatever donation they could afford.
A sunset I remember:
Over the Yamuna in Vrndavana dhama, Uttar Pradesh
Any character I could be from a movie, TV show or book would be:
Lord Shiva doing his dance, destroying all the corruption in the universe
Why:
Because I am very angry at how people get sucked in by the materialistic governments of the world to live a life that takes them into ignorance, or places them into debt. Its the duty of good government to punish those who are comitting violence to others. Lets begin with removing and replacing the government leaders who help to kill animals and who allow the child within the womb to be murdered. Anyone who facilitates this is not even a human yet, much less a leader. They are Mis-Leaders, especially the U.N.
